A traditional Ethiopian dish that combines the intense flavor of lamb with the spicy kick of chili.

Ingredients

  • 500 g of lamb
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of chili
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 liter of meat broth
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of saffron
  • 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Cut the lamb into small pieces and set aside.
  2. Sauté the onions and garlic in a pot with olive oil until they become golden.
  3. Add the chili, black pepper, and cumin and fry for a few minutes.
  4. Add the meat broth, honey, saffron, and red wine vinegar, bringing to a boil.
  5. Add the lamb and cook on medium heat for about 45 minutes or until the lamb is fully cooked.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Serve hot with Ethiopian bread.
