Ingredients

  • 1 kg of pork
  • 1 onion
  • 2 chili fingers
  • 200 ml of soy sauce
  • 100 ml of sesame oil
  • 100 ml of crab oil
  • 200 g of corn bread
  • 200 g of onion
  • 100 g of peppers
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 100 ml of water

Method

  1. Cut the pork into small pieces and marinate it with soy sauce, sesame oil, crab oil, onion, chili, salt, and pepper.
  2. Fry the meat in a pan until it is well cooked and crispy.
  3. Cut the corn bread in half and make a hole in the middle.
  4. Fry the bread in a pan until it becomes golden.
  5. Place the warm meat in the center of the bread.
  6. Slice the onion and peppers and add them on top of the meat.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy the Xi'an Roujiamo.

The story

Roujiamo is a specialty from Xi'an, dating back to the Tang Dynasty, and became popular as a quick and affordable lunch.
