Tambacounda — Mother recipe · en it
A traditional dish from Tambacounda, sweet and rich in flavor, perfect for an autumn meal.

Ingredients
- 200 g of basmati rice
- 100 g of cane sugar
- 100 ml of palm oil
- 1 lemon
- 100 ml of water
- 100 g of almonds
- 100 g of sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 tablespoon of cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon of ginger powder
- Salt to taste
Method
- In a pan, heat the palm oil until it's hot.
- Add the rice and stir for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the cane sugar, lemon zest, and water, stir well.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
- In another pan, toast the almonds and sesame seeds.
- In a bowl, place the cooked rice and add the toasted almonds, sesame seeds, and spices.
- Mix well and add salt to taste.
- Serve hot.
