Ingredients

  • 400 g of Worsvleis meat
  • 2 onions
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 200 ml of beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 basil leaves

Method

  1. Cut the Worsvleis meat into small pieces and put it in a casserole.
  2. In a pan, sauté the red onion and garlic in a bit of oil.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the Worsvleis meat to the casserole with the vegetables and pour in the beef broth.
  5. Bring to a boil, cover, and let it simmer for 45 minutes on medium heat.
  6. Add the spices, parsley, and basil leaves, mix well, and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
  7. Turn off the heat and serve your delicious Worsvleis stew.
