Ingredients
- 1000 g of waterblommetjie (flowers)
- 500 g of beef or veal
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 200 g of rice
- 1 liter of beef broth
- 100 ml of white wine
- 50 ml of olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
Method
- Gently clean the waterblommetjie flowers and cut them into pieces.
- In a pan, sauté the garlic and onion in a bit of olive oil.
- Add the beef or veal cut into pieces and cook until well done.
- Add the beef broth, white wine, salt, pepper, sugar, and chili powder. Let it boil for 20 minutes.
- In another pot, cook the rice in salted water for about 15 minutes.
- Add the waterblommetjie flowers to the sauce and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Serve the rice in a bowl, and pour the waterblommetjie sauce with meat over it.
