Sukiyaki
A delicious and warming dish, Sukiyaki is a hearty meal featuring tender meat and vegetables in a rich daigaku sauce.

Ingredients
- 200g of thinly sliced beef fillet
- 200g of onion
- 200g of carrots
- 100g of shiitake mushrooms
- 200g of cauliflower
- 200ml of daigaku sauce
- 200ml of beef broth
- 2 tablespoons of sake
- 2 tablespoons of mirin
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Dice the onion, carrots, and shiitake mushrooms into small cubes.
- In a wok or large pan, bring the beef broth and daigaku sauce to a simmer.
- Add the onion and carrots, cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the shiitake mushrooms and cauliflower, cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add the beef, sake, mirin, soy sauce, and sugar, cook for 5 minutes over medium-high heat.
- Serve the Sukiyaki in a warm dish, allowing each person to add the meat and vegetables to their own bowl.
- Top the bowl with a miso soup for an extra flavor boost.
The story
Sukiyaki originates from Japan, where it was refined during the Edo period. This dish became popular in the 19th century as a family dinner.
