Ingredients

  • 200g of sugar
  • 100ml of water
  • 400g of flour
  • 100g of butter
  • 200g of powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of coffee powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • oil for frying
  • coffee for serving

Method

  1. In a pot, combine the water, sugar, and butter and bring to a boil to make the sugar mixture.
  2. While the sugar mixture cools, mix the flour, vanilla, and coffee powder in another bowl.
  3. Gradually add the sugar mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until you get a smooth dough.
  4. Fry small portions of the dough in hot oil to form the thin and crispy stroopwafel.
  5. Once the stroopwafels are ready, dip them in a bit of powdered sugar for a sweet touch.
  6. Serve them warm with a cup of coffee.
