Ingredients
- 500g of lamb cut into pieces
- 4 large onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 3-4 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 3-4 peeled and diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons black pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground green cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3-4 bay leaves
- vegetable oil
Method
- In a large skillet, sauté the crushed garlic and chopped onions in vegetable oil until they are soft and golden.
- Add the ground black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, green cardamom, and cloves. Stir well for 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the lamb pieces into the skillet with the spices and cook over medium-high heat until it starts to brown.
- Add the peeled and diced tomatoes, yogurt, and bay leaves. Mix well to combine ingredients.
- Bring everything to a simmer, reduce heat, and let it cook on low for 45-60 minutes or until the meat is tender and fully cooked.
