Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 100 ml of milk
- 1 tablespoon of water colored with food-grade gum
- 1 tablespoon of water colored with food-grade gum of another color
- 1 teaspoon of oil for greasing the steamer
- 1 teaspoon of sugar for decoration
- 1 teaspoon of food-grade gum for coloring
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the eggs, milk, and oil, mixing until you get a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter into two parts and color one with food-grade gum.
- Shape the puto with your hands and place them in an oiled steamer.
- Create artistic figures with the two colors and steam the puto.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the puto are golden.
- Remove from the steamer, let cool, and decorate with sugar.
- Toast the food-grade gum to create artistic figures to decorate the puto.
