Picarones
Indulge in the sweet and warm Picarones, a traditional Peruvian dessert made with apple flour.

Ingredients
- 4 apples, cooked and mashed
- 1 liter of water
- 250 grams of sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 vanilla pod
- 250 grams of flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Oil for frying
- Sugar for decorating
- Mint leaves for garnish
Method
- Take the cooked apples and mix them with water, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla to create a compote.
- Strain the compote to remove the apple pieces and let it cool.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, egg, powdered sugar, and ground cinnamon.
- Add the apple compote and mix until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Fry the small dough balls in hot oil to form the Picarones.
- Drain and let them cool.
- Decorate with powdered sugar and mint leaves.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
