A creamy and nutritious dessert made with rice and milk, typical of the Sindh region in Pakistan.

Ingredients
- 200g of firni rice
- 1 liter of milk
- 200ml of condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cane sugar
- 100g of fresh or dried fruit, for garnish
- 1 teaspoon of saffron powder (optional)
Method
- Wash the firni rice and cook it in plenty of water for 15-20 minutes until it is soft. Strain the rice and set it aside.
- In a saucepan, bring the milk to a boil with cardamom, cinnamon, and cane sugar.
- Add the rice and cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- Add the condensed milk and sugar, stirring well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the firni is thick and slightly dry.
- Turn off the heat and add the saffron powder if you want a bright yellow color.
- Let the firni cool for a few minutes, then transfer it to a bowl and garnish with fresh or dried fruit.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature for the best taste.
