Pepper Shrimp

A delicious shrimp dish seasoned with a super spicy pepper, typical of the Negril coast in Jamaica.

Ingredients
- 400 g of shrimp
- 50 g of super hot dried chili pepper
- 2 onions
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 100 g of liquid cream
Method
- Clean the shrimp and finely chop them.
- Slice the onions thinly and sauté them in a pan with olive oil.
- Add the super hot dried chili pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the chopped shrimp, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the liquid cream and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve immediately, hot and delicious!
The story
Pepper shrimp became popular in Negril in the 1970s when tourists sought out spicier and more original dishes.
