Pastel de Nata
Pastel de Nata is a Portuguese pastry known for its crispy exterior and creamy interior.

Ingredients
- 250 g of sugar
- 500 ml of milk
- 10 eggs
- 100 g of flour
- 10 g of baking powder
- 1 vanilla pod or a vanilla pod extract
- 1 tablespoon of caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon of oil
Method
- In a bowl, mix the sugar, flour, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, vanilla, and oil.
- Combine the two mixtures and mix until you get a smooth cream.
- Pour the cream into muffin tins and bake in the oven at 180°C for about 20-25 minutes.
- Let it cool and decorate with caster sugar.
- Serve warm.
The story
Pastel de Nata originated in the 17th century when it was invented by the French and then adapted by the Portuguese, becoming a culinary symbol of their tradition.
