Papanasi are traditional Romanian pastries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served warm with cream.

Ingredients
- 300 g of cornmeal
- 200 g of sugar
- 100 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of rum
- Water for cooking
- 100 g of powdered sugar
- 100 g of sour cream
Method
- In a pan, stir-fry the cornmeal with butter, sugar, and cinnamon until you get a homogeneous paste.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and add the rum.
- Form balls with the cooked cornmeal and dip them in the egg and rum mixture, forming papanasi.
- Boil water in a pot and cook the papanasi for 5-7 minutes.
- Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the papanasi warm with sour cream and powdered sugar.
