Ingredients

  • 300 g of cornmeal
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 g of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of rum
  • Water for cooking
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • 100 g of sour cream

Method

  1. In a pan, stir-fry the cornmeal with butter, sugar, and cinnamon until you get a homogeneous paste.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and add the rum.
  3. Form balls with the cooked cornmeal and dip them in the egg and rum mixture, forming papanasi.
  4. Boil water in a pot and cook the papanasi for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Serve the papanasi warm with sour cream and powdered sugar.
