Ingredients

  • 200g spaghetti
  • 100g shrimp
  • 100g prawns
  • 2 onions
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 100g anchovies
  • 50g soy sauce
  • 50g chili sauce
  • 50g tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons palm oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg

Method

  1. Clean and slice the onions and sweet potatoes. Fry them in palm oil.
  2. In a pot, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In another pan, cook the shrimp and prawns in salted water for 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, chili sauce, and tomato sauce together.
  5. In the same bowl, add the anchovies and mix until they are completely broken down.
  6. Add the spaghetti and fried vegetables to the sauce, mixing well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. In a bowl, beat the egg and pour it over the pancit palabok, gently mixing.
  8. Serve hot and garnish with fried onions and shrimp.

The story

Pancit Palabok originated in Southeast Asia and spread to the southern regions of the Philippines, particularly in Manila, where it has become a popular dish.
