Mopane Worms

Mopane worms, an ancient dish from Limpopo, are crunchy and protein-rich, perfect for enjoying in summer.

Ingredients
- 200g of Mopane worms
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon of ground red pepper
Method
- Rinse the Mopane worms under running water and dry them.
- Fry the garlic in a pan with olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion and fry until it becomes golden.
- Add the Mopane worms, salt, pepper, ground ginger, and ground red pepper. Stir well.
- Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the worms become firm.
- Finally, add the balsamic vinegar and stir well.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
