Moose Meat Pie

A hearty and rich dish typical of the Northwest Territories of Canada, made with moose meat.

Ingredients
- 500 g of moose meat
- 2 onions
- 1 red onion
- 2 carrots
- 1 zucchini
- 1 liter of meat broth
- 1 pinch of red pepper
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 250 g of phyllo dough
- 2 eggs
- oil for frying
Method
- Cut the moose meat into small pieces and sauté it in a pan with a bit of oil. Add the onions and red onion, and sauté over medium heat.
- Add the sliced carrots and zucchini, and sauté for another 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the meat broth, add the red pepper and salt. Let it simmer for 30-40 minutes until the meat is well cooked.
- Prepare the phyllo dough by cutting it into strips and forming sheets. Spread a portion of the cooked meat and a bit of beaten egg on the sheets.
- Cover the sheets with another strip of phyllo dough and make a central cut to open them up.
- Fry the sheets in hot oil until golden and crispy.
- Arrange the fried sheets on a baking tray and serve them hot.
