A classic of Eastern Province Saudi Arabian cuisine, Mishkaki are grilled beef kebabs that are crispy on the outside and deliciously tender on the inside.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of beef
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
  • 20 skewers for kebabs
  • 10 bay leaves
  • 10 thyme leaves
  • 10 oregano leaves
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove

Method

  1. Chop the garlic and onion into cubes and sauté them in a pan with olive oil.
  2. In a bowl, mix the beef with apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, black pepper, salt, parsley, bay leaves, thyme, and oregano.
  3. Add the garlic and onion sauce and mix well.
  4. Thread the beef onto the skewers and grill at 200°C for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Serve hot, accompanied by rice or bread.
