A spicy noodle soup with a flavorful broth and vegetables, typical of Penang in Malaysia.

Ingredients
- 200g of spaghetti
- 2 onions
- 200g of mixed vegetables (leeks, scallions, carrots, pumpkin)
- 200g of leafy vegetables (coriander, basil)
- 1 chili pepper
- 1 lemon
- 200g of bell peppers
- 3 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Salt to taste
Method
- In a pot, cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water.
- Meanwhile, chop the vegetables and leaves, and blanch them in salted water.
- In a pan, heat the sesame oil and sauté the finely chopped onions.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the blanched vegetables and leaves, and stir in the soy sauce, ground pepper, sugar, and salt.
- Stir well and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Finally, add the cooked spaghetti and mix well.
- Serve hot with lemon juice on the side.

Mee Siam is a dish originating from the northeastern part of Malaysia, particularly popular in Penang, where Malaysian cuisine blends with Chinese and Indonesian influences.
