Meat Pie
A classic Australian dish, rich and flavorful, often enjoyed during festive occasions.

Ingredients
- 2 kg of minced meat
- 1 onion
- 1 zucchini
- 1 pumpkin
- 200 g of potatoes
- 200 g of broccoli
- 300 g of beans
- 2 leeks
- 1 tablespoon of chili
- 1 tablespoon of rosemary
- 1 bay leaf
- 100 ml of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of tomato concentrate
- 12 sheets of filo pastry
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- In a pan, sauté the oil with the onion and garlic, then add the minced meat and cook until the meat is well done.
- Cut the zucchini, pumpkin, potatoes, and broccoli into small pieces and add them to this mixture.
- Add the rosemary, chili, salt, and pepper, stir well and let it cook for 20-25 minutes.
- Prepare the filo pastry, lay a sheet and add a tablespoon of tomato concentrate on each one.
- Place the meat mixture on a sheet of filo, add another layer of filo on top and repeat the process until finished.
- Cover the last layer of filo with the last layer of pastry, tie the ends well to form a cylinder.
- Fry the meat pie in hot oil until golden, serve it hot with a tomato or carrot sauce.

The meat pie has its roots in England, but it has become a typical Australian dish, adapted with local ingredients.
