A traditional Canadian treat, this soft and delicious candy is made with famous maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml of maple syrup
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 ml of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pinches of salt
  • Cinnamon leaves for decoration
  • Box of cocoa powder for decoration

Method

  1. In a pot, combine the maple syrup, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and stir well.
  4. Pour the mixture into a muffin tin and spread evenly.
  5. Let it cool completely, then decorate with cinnamon leaves and cocoa powder.
  6. Cut the caramel into pieces and serve fresh.
