Ingredients

  • 2 kg of beef, cut into pieces
  • 2 liters of meat broth
  • 1 kg of roasted beef, cut into pieces
  • 1 kg of cooked beef, cut into pieces
  • 1 kg of vermicelli
  • 200 grams of almonds
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 100 grams of cinnamon powder
  • 100 grams of macadamia nuts
  • 500 ml of oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Za'atar (a blend of herbs) to taste

Method

  1. In a pot, simmer the beef with the broth for at least 2 hours, until the beef is tender.
  2. Toast the almonds in a pan with oil until golden.
  3. In another pan, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and macadamia nuts to create the sauce.
  4. In a large pot, cook the vermicelli in salted water until al dente.
  5. Combine the cooked beef, roasted beef, and almond sauce in a large pot and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve the beef in a warm dish, topped with vermicelli and sauce, and garnish with the nut sauce.
