Ingredients

  • 200 g of mămăligă
  • 400 g of sarmale
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 200 ml of meat broth
  • 50 ml of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 100 g of grated cheese
  • 100 g of chopped parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of lard in chunks

Method

  1. Prepare the mămăligă according to package instructions, then heat the meat broth.
  2. In a pan, sauté the garlic and onion in olive oil.
  3. Add the sarmale and cook for a few minutes, then add the meat broth.
  4. Pour the mămăligă into a serving dish and top with the sarmale.
  5. In a bowl, mix the eggs, cheese, parsley, and a little bit of broth.
  6. Baste the mămăligă with the egg mixture and bake for 15-20 minutes at 180°C.
  7. Bake the dish for 15-20 minutes at 180°C until the mămăligă is warm and the cheese is golden.
  8. Serve hot, accompanied by chunks of lard.
