Mamaliga
Mamaliga is a polenta with a crispy exterior and a soft interior, perfect as an accompaniment to beef stew.

Ingredients
- 300g of cornmeal
- 1 liter of water
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 onion
- 1 piece of ginger
- 1 piece of cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- In a pot, mix the cornmeal with warm water and butter, adding salt to taste. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a pan, sauté the olive oil with the onion, ginger, and cinnamon. Add the spices and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Form the polenta into balls and fry in the pan with the oil from the pan on medium heat until crispy.
- Serve the hot mamaliga as an accompaniment to the beef stew.
