Ingredients
- 100 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 100 g of butter
- 100 g of almonds
- 100 g of sesame seeds
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of saffron powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg powder
- 1/4 cup of milk
- Pinch of black pepper
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, saffron, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with the butter, milk, and black pepper.
- Gradually add the flour and spice mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until a homogeneous dough is formed.
- Add the sesame seeds and almonds, mixing well.
- Form small balls with the dough, then roll them in flour to coat.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the makrounneh for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let them cool and serve warm or cold.
