Lötschentaler Bratwurst

A delectable specialty from the Valais, the Lötschental bratwurst, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Ingredients
- 2 kg of pork
- 1 kg of lamb
- 1 onion
- 3 skewers
- 100 g of parsley
- 50 g of red pepper
- 200 ml of water
- salt and pepper to taste
- oil for frying
Method
- Chop the pork and lamb into small pieces and mix with the onion, vegetables, and herbs.
- Thread the meat pieces onto skewers.
- In a pot, bring water to a boil with salt and pepper.
- Fry the skewers in hot oil until the meat is crispy.
- Drain and serve immediately.
- Score the crust with a knife to make the dish more appetizing.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
The story
The Lötschentaler Bratwurst is a culinary tradition dating back to the 19th century, when the pastures of the Lötschental valley were home to shepherds who prepared it with their livestock.
