Ingredients

  • 500g fresh cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100g flour
  • 50g butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Baking powder
  • Honey for serving

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the fresh cheese, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and flour.
  2. Add the butter and milk, mixing until you get a smooth mixture.
  3. Add the baking powder and mix well.
  4. Shape the mixture into small pancakes and let them dry on a baking paper.
  5. Place the pancakes in a non-stick pan and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with a drizzle of honey.

The story

The Kulynskyi Syrnik has roots in Ukrainian cuisine but is particularly popular in the Ternopil region. Traditionally, it was made with fresh cheese and served with honey.
