Ingredients

  • 250 g of flour
  • 150 g of butter
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pinches of powdered sugar
  • Grated feta cheese (optional)

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, melted butter, sugar, eggs, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  4. Bake the koulourakia in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes, until they turn golden.
  5. Let the koulourakia cool on a wire rack and decorate with pinches of powdered sugar and grated feta cheese.
  6. Serve them fresh or store them in an airtight container for a couple of days.
