Ingredients

  • 2 small chickens or 1 large chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 carrots, cubed
  • 1 pumpkin, cubed
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 cups of almond meal (kombuis pap)
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 packet of chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Method

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil and sauté the onions and red onion until they become golden.
  2. Add the carrots, pumpkin, and zucchini and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken broth, chili powder, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until the chicken is fully cooked.
  5. In another pot, prepare the kombuis pap by mixing the almond meal with a little water to form a paste.
  6. Add the kombuis pap to the pot with the chicken broth and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  7. Serve hot, accompanied by a side salad or green vegetables.
