Ingredients

  • 400 g of salted radish
  • 100 g of cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger powder
  • 2 tablespoons of soybean oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Method

  1. Clean and cut the salted radish into small pieces.
  2. Slice the cucumber thinly.
  3. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, tomato sauce, ginger powder, soybean oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the salted radish and cucumber slices to the sauce and mix well.
  5. In a pan, sauté the red onion in a little soybean oil.
  6. Add the salted radish, cucumber, and sauce mixture to the pan and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Finally, add the soy sauce vinegar and sugar, mix well, and let it cool down.
  8. Serve chilled for the best taste.

Kkakdugi is a traditional dish from North Korea with roots in ancient times, made from salted radishes and cucumbers, and has become popular as an appetizer.
