Ingredients

  • 400 g of beef
  • 2 onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 mint leaves

Method

  1. Prepare the meatball filling by mixing the beef, minced garlic, ginger, coriander, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Slice the onions thinly and dice the tomatoes.
  3. In a pan, sauté the garlic and onions in olive oil.
  4. Add the tomatoes and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Form the kefta with the prepared filling and add them to the pan with the tomatoes.
  6. Cover and cook for 20 minutes over low heat.
  7. In another pot, bring the beef broth to a boil and pour it into the pan with the kefta.
  8. Simmer for 30 minutes over low heat, adding lemon juice and mint leaves before serving.
