Kasha
A delicious buckwheat porridge, a classic of Ukrainian cuisine, rich in flavor and nutritious.

Ingredients
- 200g of buckwheat
- 400ml of water
- 200ml of milk
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 teaspoon of saffron
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil (optional)
Method
- Rinse the buckwheat and boil it with water and salt for about 10-15 minutes, or until it's soft.
- Drain and put it in a pot, adding milk, butter, sugar, and saffron.
- Stir well and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
- If desired, add sesame oil and stir well.
- Serving: serve warm, with a bit of sugar or honey if you prefer.
The story
Kasha is an ancient culinary tradition dating back to the times of the Cossacks, when it was prepared with any available grain, including buckwheat.
