Karahi Shrimp

A spicy and aromatic fried shrimp dish, typical of Lahore, Pakistan.

Ingredients
- 400 g of fresh shrimp
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 dried chili peppers, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of garam masala
- 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of beef stock powder
- 1 teaspoon of lime juice
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
Method
- Clean and cut the shrimp into even-sized pieces.
- In a non-stick pan, sauté the onions and dried chili peppers in sunflower oil.
- Add the grated ginger and sauté for another 2 minutes.
- Add the shrimp, chili powder, garam masala, sugar, beef stock powder, lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir well and cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until the shrimp are golden and well-cooked.
- Serve hot with a sprinkle of cilantro or coriander on top.
