Ingredients

  • 4 lamb shanks
  • 500 g of lamb cut into pieces
  • 1 liter of meat broth
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 2 tablespoons of chili
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Prepare the lamb shanks by cutting them into pieces and boiling them in meat broth for 1 hour.
  2. Clean and dice the onion, carrots, and cucumbers into cubes.
  3. In a large pot, sauté the onion in a bit of olive oil.
  4. Add the carrots and cucumbers and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the sautéed onion, chili, chili powder, ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon to the pot.
  6. Stir well and let cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the cut lamb pieces and the lamb shank broth.
  8. Simmer for 1 hour on low heat.
  9. Arrange the lamb shanks in a serving dish and pour the broth and solid ingredients over them.
  10. Serve hot and season with salt and pepper to taste.
