A traditional Asir dish, Jareesh is a rich, aromatic sweet made with dried fruit and sugar.

Ingredients
- 200 gr of dried figs
- 100 gr of almonds
- 100 gr of sugar
- 100 ml of water
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom
- 100 gr of camel liver seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of saffron (optional)
Method
- Clean the dried figs and cut them into pieces.
- Break the almonds into small pieces.
- In a pot, mix the figs, almonds, sugar, water, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- Bring to a boil and reduce the heat, simmering on medium heat for about 30 minutes, or until the figs are soft.
- If desired, add the camel liver seeds and saffron, mixing well.
- Let cool and serve as a dessert.
