Jambi-style Fried Fish
A classic of Jambi cuisine, Goreng Ikan is a delicious preparation of crispy and delectable fish.

Ingredients
- 4 fish fillets (e.g., salmon or tuna)
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of sweet soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of water
Method
- Sauté the garlic cloves in coconut oil in a medium heat pan.
- Add sliced onions and cook until they become golden.
- In a bowl, separate the fish fillets and add the sweet soy sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the fish fillets well with the sauce and let them sit for 10 minutes.
- In a pan, pour the oil and fry the fish fillets for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden.
- Add water, cover, and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with a bit of sauce on top.
