Ingredients
- 4 beef fillets
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 100 ml of sake
- 50 ml of soy sauce
- 100 g of ginger, chopped
- 100 g of chili, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 120 g of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame oil
Method
- Prepare the sauce by mixing sake, soy sauce, ginger, chili, soy sauce, and lemon juice.
- In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the garlic and onion until they are golden brown.
- Add the prepared sauce and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a paste.
- In another bowl, pour the sauce and mix well.
- Dredge the beef fillets in the sauce.
- Make a crust with the paste on the beef fillets.
- Fry the fillets in hot olive oil until the crust is crispy and the meat is cooked to your liking.

The Chabudai-gozaru is a culinary tradition from Izumo, in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, dating back to gratitude ceremonies for divine protection.
