Ingredients

  • 1 haggis
  • 500 g turnips (neeps)
  • 500 g potatoes (tatties)
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 200 ml chicken broth
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

Method

  1. Preheat the haggis according to the package instructions and bake in the oven at 180°C for 1 hour.
  2. Cut the turnips into 2 cm pieces and the potatoes into cubes.
  3. In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  4. Add the turnips and potatoes, and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  5. Add the chicken broth, salt, pepper, chopped onion, cane sugar, lemon juice, and thyme.
  6. Cook on medium heat for another 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve the haggis hot, accompanied by turnips and potatoes.
