A delightful appetizer with crispy, filled bread balls served with a tangy tamarind sauce.

Ingredients
- 100g of rice flour
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- Enough water for preparation
- 1 tablespoon of tamarind powder
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- Various fillings (potatoes, onion, carrot, chopped cilantro)
- 200g of fruit bread
- 1 tablespoon of smoked onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of chopped pistachios
Method
- Prepare the rice flour dough: mix the rice flour with the flour and enough water to form a flexible dough.
- Shape the bread balls with the dough and cook in boiling water until they puff up.
- Prepare the tamarind sauce: mix the tamarind powder, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and salt in a little water.
- Fill the bread balls with various fillings.
- Fry the bread balls in hot oil until they become crispy.
- Serve the bread balls with the tamarind sauce and the fruit bread toasts and chopped pistachios.
- Enjoy them!
The story
Gol Gappe originated in the Punjab region of Pakistan and have become particularly popular in Lahore, where they are served as a snack between meals or as an appetizer.
