A delicious appetizer made with fava beans and traditional seasonings, typical of the Northern region of Saudi Arabia.

Ingredients
- 400 g of fava beans
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100 ml of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of cedar essence
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- Water for cooking the beans
- Pulla (optional, for garnish)
Method
- Rinse the fava beans and cook them in boiling water with a bit of salt for about 30 minutes.
- Break the skin of the fava beans by pressing them with a spoon.
- Fill the broken fava beans with minced garlic and olive oil, then mash them with your fingers.
- In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic in a bit of olive oil.
- Add the fava beans, salt, and cedar essence, stir and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with pulla if desired.
