Ingredients

  • 200 g of dried fava beans
  • 50 g of olive oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tablespoon of dried onion
  • 2 tablespoons of mashed chickpeas
  • 1 chili pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Water for boiling
  • Chopped parsley
  • Sesame seeds

Method

  1. Boil the dried fava beans in water for about 30 minutes until they are soft.
  2. Drain the fava beans and let them cool.
  3. Blend the fava beans until you get a smooth paste.
  4. In a pan, sauté the olive oil, onions, and chili pepper.
  5. Add the fava bean paste and mashed chickpeas, stirring well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a deep dish, add salt to taste and garnish with parsley and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve hot or cold.
