Fez Butter and Honey Bread

A soft and crunchy bread, stuffed with butter and honey, a traditional dish from the city of Fez in Morocco.

Ingredients
- 300 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 50 g of honey
- 100 g of butter
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
- 1 egg
- 100 ml of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 100 g of candied sugar
- 100 g of chopped almonds
- 100 g of chopped pistachios
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, honey, butter, yeast, egg, water, and salt in a large bowl.
- Knead well until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Let the dough rise, covered with a cloth, in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Prepare a baking tray with a little butter and shape the dough into croissants.
- Sprinkle with a little water and sprinkle with candied sugar, almonds, and pistachios.
- Bake the honey and butter bread at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
- Let the bread cool down and serve it warm or cold, as you prefer.
