Feijoada
A traditional Portuguese dish, feijoada is a hearty and flavorful stew, perfect for cold days.

Ingredients
- 1 kg of feijoada beans
- 500 g of pork ribs
- 300 g of pancetta
- 200 g of smoked bacon
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 red peppers
- 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
- 1 liter of meat broth
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- In a large pot, cook the feijoada beans with the meat broth for about 1 hour or until they are tender.
- In a skillet, cook the pancetta and pork ribs on medium heat for 20 minutes, until they are well cooked.
- Add the red peppers and onions, chopped, and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Add the smoked bacon and lamb, and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Add the bean broth and seasonings, stir well, and let it simmer for 1 hour on medium heat.
- Serve the feijoada in a serving dish, season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, accompanied by roasted meats and a salad.

Feijoada is a Brazilian dish with roots in African and Portuguese cuisines, brought to Brazil by the Portuguese in the 17th century.
