Churros with Chocolate

A classic of Spanish cuisine, churros with chocolate are a delightful treat to enjoy at any time of the day.

Ingredients
- 300 g of flour
- 500 ml of warm water
- 100 g of sugar
- 100 g of butter
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100 g of cocoa powder
- 500 ml of milk
- 100 g of powdered sugar
- 100 ml of cream
- 100 g of chocolate slices
- Oil for frying
Method
- In a pot, mix the flour, butter, warm water, and salt to form a homogeneous dough.
- Cover the pot and let it cool for 10 minutes.
- Add the egg and mix well.
- Let the dough drop through a churro maker to form the churros.
- Fry the churros in hot oil until golden.
- In another pot, mix the cocoa, milk, sugar, and cream to form the chocolate sauce.
- Pour a bit on the plate with the churros and decorate with chocolate slices.
- Serve immediately.
The story
Churros originated in India and were brought to Spain by the Moors, later becoming a true culinary symbol of Madrid.
