Ingredients

  • 300 g of flour
  • 500 ml of warm water
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 100 g of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g of cocoa powder
  • 500 ml of milk
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • 100 ml of cream
  • 100 g of chocolate slices
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. In a pot, mix the flour, butter, warm water, and salt to form a homogeneous dough.
  2. Cover the pot and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and mix well.
  4. Let the dough drop through a churro maker to form the churros.
  5. Fry the churros in hot oil until golden.
  6. In another pot, mix the cocoa, milk, sugar, and cream to form the chocolate sauce.
  7. Pour a bit on the plate with the churros and decorate with chocolate slices.
  8. Serve immediately.

The story

Churros originated in India and were brought to Spain by the Moors, later becoming a true culinary symbol of Madrid.
