Chuko is a traditional dish from Dire Dawa, unique in its flavorful combination of ingredients.

Ingredients
- 200 g of beef
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 chili pepper
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1 packet of chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of fresh mint
- 1 tablespoon of dried cherry
Method
- Cut the meat into small pieces and set aside.
- In a pan, sauté the garlic and olive oil, then add the onion and chili pepper.
- Add the meat and cook until well done.
- Pour in the beef broth and chili powder, stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the white wine vinegar, lemon juice, mint, and dried cherry, stir and let it cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and serve the chuko hot, accompanied by bread.
