Choripán is a classic Chilean dish, a delicious sandwich made with pork and various condiments.

Ingredients
- 4 sandwiches
- 400 g of pork
- 2 onions
- 2 tablespoons of garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oil sauce
- 1 tablespoon of peanut sauce
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- Ricotta cheese
- Pepperoni
Method
- Cut the pork into 2x2 cm pieces and fry in a pan with oil until well cooked.
- Slice the onions thinly and fry in a pan with oil until golden brown.
- In a bowl, mix the garlic sauce, oil, peanut sauce, and vinegar sauce.
- Season the pork with salt and pepper, then marinate it in the prepared sauce.
- Fry the caramelized onions in a pan with oil and add the marinated pork.
- Assemble the sandwiches with the pork, onions, ricotta, and pepperoni.
- Let the sandwiches rest for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
The story
Choripán originated in Santiago during the 19th-century industrial boom, as a practical and economical way to serve pork.
