Chilean Beef Steaks

Chilean beef steaks, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a spicy sauce.

Ingredients
- 4 beef steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 onion, chopped
- 100 g chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil for the sauce
Method
- Prepare the beef steaks, wash and season them with plenty of salt and pepper.
- In a medium pan, heat the olive oil and cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are crispy.
- In another pan, sauté the onion and garlic in a bit of olive oil, then add the parsley, soy sauce, tomato sauce, lime juice, sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Stir well and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the prepared sauce with the cooking oil of the steaks.
- Serve the hot steaks with the sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.

The story
Chilean beef steaks became popular in Concepción due to local culinary traditions and the presence of hunters and fishermen in the 19th century, who preferred to cook the meat simply.
