Ingredients

  • 200 g of bacon
  • 1 onion
  • 100 g of ginger
  • 300 ml of coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of shoyu sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 100 g of zucchini
  • 100 g of shallots
  • 200 g of vermicelli

Method

  1. Cut the bacon into thin strips.
  2. Finely chop the onion and ginger.
  3. In a pan, heat the coconut oil and cook the bacon until golden.
  4. Add the onion and ginger, cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the soy sauce, shoyu sauce, salt, and pepper, mix well.
  6. In a bowl, mix the bacon with the sauce and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  7. Slice the zucchini into thin rounds and fry in coconut oil.
  8. Dice the shallots and mix them with the bacon.
  9. In a bowl, combine the vermicelli with the bacon and shallots.
  10. Serve immediately.

The story

Chả lụa has a history dating back to the Lê dynasty, when it was served as an appetizer for more luxurious meals. Today, it is a popular snack in Vietnam and around the world.
