Ingredients

  • 250 g of flour
  • 150 g of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 300 g of cheese cream
  • 100 g of almonds
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • Cold water for the dough
  • Powdered sugar for decoration

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, melted butter, oil, egg, sugar, and yeast to form a dough.
  2. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix the cheese cream, chopped almonds, and cinnamon.
  4. Roll out the dough into a thin pastry sheet and fill it with the prepared cream mixture.
  5. Wrap the pastry and cut into portions.
  6. Make small holes with a spoon on the top part of the portions.
  7. Preheat the oven and bake the bougatsa for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Squeeze out the excess liquid with a spoon.
  9. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top before serving.
