Ingredients

  • 400 grams of okra (bhindi)
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1/2 cup of white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup of dried cherries
  • Optional seasonings (dried cherries, dried peppercorns, coriander)

Method

  1. Wash the okra well and cut into pieces.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the garlic and onions until they become golden.
  3. Add the okra, chili powder, turmeric, and ginger powder.
  4. Season with salt and mix well.
  5. Add the white wine vinegar and vegetable broth, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add the dried cherries and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with optional seasonings.
  8. Enjoy your meal!
